Breast Screening Campaign for the over 50s
In Jersey the Breast Screening Programme suffers from low attendance due to the misconception that ladies who reach the age of 50 will be contacted to attend their first screening appointment. Unfortunately this is not the case as there is no central database and you must make yourself known to receive an appointment.
Üba Studio took up the challenge with great enthusiasm and created a witty, fun but effective campaign. We created illustrations that showed the 50th Birthday marker whilst cleverly disguising a pair of breasts.
The humourous approach was well received without causing alarm or offence. Our designs were tested with a group of ladies from different backgrounds aged 50 - 70 who loved the ideas and found them both light hearted and engaging.
The campaign colour palette is deliberately tied into the UK Breast Cancer Awareness Charity's branding to make use of a nationally recognised campaign.
Posters were also translated into Portuguese and Polish and displayed in community centres.
